I hope that is a typo! 76 inches tall is what Jim meant to type.
Jim must have been too excited to type correctly! [lol]
After looking at Jim's original email, I just sent him a new file for the queen. I got rid of the Princess Leia look on the hair. Looking at the pieces together, in my eyes the queen needed to be reworked just a bit.
Most of these files are in the 70 to 90 MB size range. The king was actually 560MB prior to me reducing it down to a hundred plus.
Myself and Jim will be posting more on this entire process as we get time. The scanning and 3D work was done on my end. I will be putting together a thread that deals with the process of scanning from start to finish.
The best is yet to come as Jim and a few other CAMaster owners mill these files and bring them to life. They will put Aspire through its paces, and from what I have seen so far, Aspire will pass with flying colors.
Kudos, to all involved on this project! [fantastic]
I for one, am quite proud to be a part of it.

Jim,
I am honored and humbled by your praise, and at the same time I am as proud as all hell to see my scanning and modeling work come to life in your shop.
I am only 33% of the talent that is on this project. Because I also know what goes into getting a file ready to mill, holding it down, bit selection, and cutting strategies, I can honestly say that the true credit for this project is going not only to your shop, but Aspire's ability to slice and render toolpaths for 3D models. In addition, Dave plays a part in this as well as do the the other CAMaster owners that are helping to carve this wonderful project.
...if I were to die tomorrow I would die with pride. Just knowing that some of my work will live on not only in your community, but other communities and companies that may contract to have these produced is almost as fulfilling as the love of my family.
"Thank" you to the other 66% involved for the incredible honor of seeing my work produced somewhere other then my shop.

I sit here in shock over what I am seeing. The work that has gone in to this project is jaw dropping. I can not help but to be proud of our machines part in all of this. Thanks so much Jim & Guy for doing what you do. I can without hesitation say our machines are solid built and can be pushed to the limit. Our proving grounds are in your shops. CAMaster’s hat is off to all the CAMheads that post work on this and other sites. Please keep this up it only helps us all out. The more the owners post the better chance we have to build on the good things that have been started.
Jim when the job is done I will come up for a game.

Jim,
Is anyone working on the pawns? I know for a fact that the milling of these pieces takes quite a bit of time and then there is still the cleanup when the sliced parts are put together. 16 pawns is a lot of machine time.
