You asked for it! We're giving it to ya.

Jim McGrew requested that CAMaster get a forum that is more user friendly than our old one, so we decided to make that happen. And here it is! CAMheadz.org .

This forum is not just for owners of CAMaster CNC routers, it is for anyone who sincerely wants to learn about or share their skills in CNC routing, machining, etc.

Please give us some feedback as well. What are some things you would like to see done on this forum in the future?

Thanks to everyone,

Josh Glenn:cool:

I heard that the first nonemployer of CAMaster that posted won a new machine... not the baby like I have but one of the others....

Me I am first!!!!!

Well turned my first item tonight, going to clean it up a little and then I will post for all to see. It is actually a mini of the real thing.

Josh... having problems with the machine listening to me. I told it the size of wood I had was a 14X14 and it went 16X17. I actually had to lie and tell it the wood was 10X10 for it to fill the size of wood I was using. Any solutions?

Anthony,

Did you set the parameters like I recommended in my email a few days ago?

Of course I didn't... I thought the next email that you sent that gave me the correct machine to pick did that for me... Guess I should have asked the question first. Guess that is why the spindal went to the end of the table on the big one. Will do that now.. thanks

We had a visitor at CAMaster on monday Will from Maxcare Bionics. it was a treat to meet him and his wife. he joined last night here on camheads as cpo1 he brought his handyscan and showed us how it worked he even scaned my legs like fitting me for new legs. He opened my eyes to a new ave of machine sales. Thanks will for comming down to Georgia and I hope the trip home was a good one. I will talk to you latter. Guy M you will have a good time with the software Will used with his handyscan it was developed for the medical field and is jaw droping to see.

Joey, I have seen the results of a handiscan file that I got from UVM (University of Vermont) When my file from my scanner was compared to what handy had shown them, the difference was night and day.

Long story short, my laser and I did the job that UVM contacted me about. 8 historically accurate volutes now sit atop a church in Burlington Vermont. Generated from the last two hand carved 150 year old originals.

I am busy researching other lasers all the time. I am also in the process of modifying one of ours. In the end I think any laser system out there is going to have pluses and minuses. I just prefer to own the one with most pluses! :)

I have been checking back every day or so and have noticed a decline in posting. I want to thank everyone for the contributions to the site so far. I do believe we have a good thing going. CAMaster has a great machine at a great price. The proof is in the pudding. Its all here for the world to see. The Jobs that Jim, Guy, Tish have done and posted here for all of us to see is nothing less than the best. I am proud to have people like you all working together. This was the purpose of this forum. I do want to grow the family. As you all know you do not have to have a yellow machine to be here. Please keep the post coming I for one will do my best to post more. CAMaster has some good things going on.
We are here to help and this forum will play a large role in this. I do look around and surf the other forums now and then, there great. I just want this for CAMheads. You now have the opportunity to be the big fish. We are on the ground floor of something good. I see more and more people flocking to our site and sharing in the world of cnc. And these ones will see who have been around for some time, They will see how many post we have, and read back and learn from us.

Thanks for all the help lets keep up the good work and roll up our sleeves and pull through this.

Joey, et al,

Like Jim, I am really busy right now between work and whipping the yard into place for the summer. Swimming pool deck, stockade fencing and what not. Posting on most of the sites has slowed down probably for some of the same reasons I have stated. In addition, I am spending a lot of time working on the New Wave website as well as a second site that I am working on called thecncguy.com.

Promised projects for CAMheads, the banjo video, and a skull that I am making for Angus is eating up free time, as well as those little projects that my boss hands me for community support projects.

Do not fear, CAMheads will continue to grow and prosper as will the the people who embrace it.

I have tons of photos and video to upload, the most recent photo project is 16 feet of oak dentil crown moulding that was produced on a 10 foot CAMaster with a Shopbot making the Dentil so Angus would not feel left out! :D I have to honor the Blue Guys as well since I am Blue, Yellow and Grey when you factor in all of our machines!

Below is a photo of an inlay piece I am working on using the Shopbot. A zebra wood cactus will complete the picture as well as white corian cattle skull. 32nd inch end mill was used to cut the veneers. this is my second inlay project ever.

To all who are here, keep up the great work and keep the questions and answers coming.

Guy

Man what a table please send me a pic of that as big as you can. This goes for all that wants to let me use some of there work to use on our site I am working on a few things on our site.

[fantastic] if that was at my house it would be as far away from my chair as my wife could put it. I always forget to use costers [nih]

Thanks,

Joey is right about coasters. That table is way to beautiful for my home.

The only difference is, it would be my wife cluttering it up with anything and everything.

She suffers from Horozontalitis. That is a sensory perception disease that certain people get. Basically it means that if there is a horozontal surface available anywhere within a given area, they will accumulate all sorts of crapola on it until there is no horozontal space left! You should see our bathroom vanity. Paris Hilton could wallpaper her face for the next 20 years with all the darn makeup my wife has! The kicker is, she is a pretty women and does not use a lot of makeup, just all sorts of different varieties. She claims it was on sale and she saves money!

Thanks,

My tables have a manproof finish. 1-2 coats marine epoxy, 2-3 coats conversion varnish. Once it's completely cured, you can spill lacquer thinner on it and not hurt it. It laugh's at cold beer.
Any of you all can afford these tables. A lamp table is only $325 wholesale. Two lamp tables, a coffee table and a foyer table are $1,500 wholesale.
