When the machine preforms a tool change, if it does not have a spindle brake it will go to the holder and spin until it stops then releases the tool. Why couldn't we program the mac to tell the machine not to enter the tool holder until the spindle speed is zero obviously that is the case for the tool release.
Joey you also need to tell me what to do for my spindle cooler so i do not have to use a screw driver to turn it off and on the little plastic slot is already getting worn.
Love My Camaster
I am still working on a design for the dust boot so it will vacum the out side edge i have ideas but they all have a hitch mainly the tool changer. My vacum works great i have a Onieda 3.5 hp Gorilla that is totaly dedicated to the CNC with that vacum i should not have any dust at all HA HA.
Paul you are one amazing individual that door does not look condusive to a CNC machine.
But obviously you made it work.
Thank you all for your support and freindship CNC is one hell of a jounrney and looking forward to the long road of getting there and we will all get there together.
More to come

I don't know, but couldn't you edit your post processor so that everytime you do a post it automatically includes a Dwell command right before the tool change command and set it to whatever time it takes to spin down to a stop?

It is getting cold here in Pensacola too. It is supposed to get to the low 20s Thursday. :( I guess I will have to cover the lemon tree.
I am counting the days until my trip to Camaster. I have the pictures of the mini cobra on my desktop.
I wouldn't make too many jokes about age, some of use are getting up there pretty good. Social Security here I come.;)

Nice thing about Florida, the cold only lasts for a couple of days and then back to the 60s.
I lived in belize for a couple of months back in the 60s, it was a beautiful country. Don't know about now though.

Just set my Post Processor to automatically insert an M5 Command right before the Tool Change command. The program ran flawlessly and the spindle stopped long before it ever reached the tool changer.
Josh and I finally got the Soft Limits problem worked out for my tool changer when I am using the 4th axis. L21 after the tool change in the program turns off my Soft Limits so the the machine can go back to the 4th Axis position and continue the program.
Having done all that, I just finished running 2 Custom Fluted Drapery Poles for a customer. 60 Inch lengths. 8 minutes each to take 10/4 Maple and turn it into 2~1/4 inch diameter and about 6 minutes to flute the drapery rods! The bit change was flawless and the Z heights were right on the money. The pole diameter finished at 2.26 inches at one end and 2.275 at the other! Need another shim! [noprob] At 21 bucks a foot, I am once again... [lol] all the way to the bank!
Will post photos later on tonight or tomorrow.
