After spending a day and half trying to figure out Cabinet parts pro setting to do a dado cut, I'm giving up. So, if anyone here can give assistance it would be much appreciated.
I've tried various setting, toolbits etc to just make a single back dado and end up getting a box shaped cut left over with material inside the pocket cut. I've tried the pocket setting in the cut toolpath and no go.

If you have correct settings and can lend assistance, please contact me and I can call you back to avoid telephone charges.
Thanks,
Tom

To pocket/clear a dado select the layer for dado. Select inside for tool offset you will then have a check box to create a pocket ,check pocket if your bit will not clear the dado in two passes. Enter the cutter diameter then in the step over enter a number less then the diameter of the bit. The step over is the distance the bit will step over for each pass. When cutter and offset info is complete click save template. Then click save Tool Paths. I hope this helps. You can email me with any questions.
Here is a link to Video help files there is a video on saving tool paths http://www.cabinetpartspro.com//VideoV8/V8Video.zip

Does anyone know were I can get a 5mm Collet and 5mm bit for the Porter Cable 3 1/4 hp router?
I want to drill the self holes and the shelf pins require a 5mm bit. I have 1/4 and 1/2 inch collets. I am also gonna need a 3/8 collet if available.

I have used a great number of nesting software packages in the past.
some of the best known titles on the market. I have always said that each has its strong points and weak ones as well. I have had the fortune to use CPP and talk to Ryan this week. The program is not as powerful as lets say Cabinet Vision. But You can not help to be dumb founded by the price tag on the CV design and nesting bundle. It does have its place in the market but for the customer that is felling the presure of the curent credit crunch, and needs to cut out there cabinets to save materal and labor then CPP can not be over looked. Take what I say with a grain of salt. I do sell other products and make money on them we all know how the game is played. But I have sold CPP @ no mark up to help people. I do not indorce one software over another but try to help my customers to make informed choices.

Here is my Review of Cabinet Parts Rro

From the short time it took to download this software I was set back. I thought to my self there is no way a nesting program is this small it just can not work. i was wrong the ease of this program will appeal to many and I found that any questions found there answers in a timley manor. Ryan has a stable program that makes nesting cabinets easy. I had to go back through the viedos 2 times to get every thing I need from them. The Viedos are of the older version but I bet we can see that fixed soon. selecting the constructions meathod was not at all hard I would like to see a few more options that would make this a very strong answer to many cabinet mans problems. I have talked to Ryan about one in picticular and he is working on it.

CPP does not have a designer feature so you can display your cabinets to your customer. but with with a quick print out of the sizes or your needed cabinets from one of the multitude of cabinet designer suites. You can quickly key your sizes in to CPP and start cutting. And once it is set up to your construction needs it is a breeze.

All in all I give it a thumbs up on price, on ease of use, on customer service.

got cabinetpartspro working perfect, again 95% of all error when new to cnc

is the newness of the curve, we keep looking to the software or machine provider to wave the majic wand and "poof there it is" but it will not happen until the operator is willing aware and ready to recieve the answer,

moral "keep getting ready"

I upgraded last month when the 3d picture viewer became available and that helped very much to visualize the cabinet prior to machining.....
Is this a newer upgrade to that?

Hello everyone,
Just picked up my new Stinger fromthe plant in Calhoun last Friday. We have had problems getting Cut2d to read AutoCAD 2000 dxf files. No error messages just acts like it ignores the file. Can print to pdf in AutoCAD and then bring into Cut2d and effect the proper g-code conversion. Anyone know why it won't take a AutoCAD 200 dxf file? running XP and Mach 3

if you want to call we can do a cross loop and find out what is the issue, i also suggest going to the vectric forum in the cut 2d section and asking the question

Try saving as an R14 dxf. I have found that version seems to be more compatible than some of the others.

Joey,

Do you happen to know which post processor I should be using for Cabinet Parts Pro with my Stinger II running Mach 3? There is a "Camaster" and a "Mach3" post processor. In addition, is the post processor that you provided me with for Aspire used only for that program or can it also be used with Cabinet Parts Pro?

I would use the Mach 3 one. I have not used CPP with Mach there may be a few settings that need to be changed. Look at the CAMaster one for a reference. This would be one for Ryan if you need some help. But it will work just fine.

Richard you can always use the export dxf from CPP and take it into aspire to toolpath.
