Hi Everyone,
I haven't posted any projects for a while, mainly because they are all pretty small. I've been wanting a bigger flat screen TV for a while now but had to make a deal with my wife to cover up all the TV components, like speakers, amps etc. We came up with an idea to carve some doors that I could put speaker cloth on the back to allow sound and ventilation through, but cover up the components.
We used Vector Art 3D (James Booth) image of an Manzanita tree #50680 which seemed like it would do the job. I carved the doors out of hard maple and used a honey stain and glazes to make it match the other cabinet doors in the house. I tried to follow Tim Merrill's glaze write up as closely as I could, great write up, thanks Tim.
Below are some pictures of the project, my wife loves it so I guess it's a success.
Thanks for looking.
Mark
P.S- Sorry I can't attend Jim's camp this week end but it's spring break for my Grandkids and we always go visit since there out of school. I know the meetings will be a success, maybe I can go next year.
