does anyone have plans or where to buy a boot for a dust collector I'm hooking up to my 4x8 camaster? trying to get by cheap, or some pics would be nice for some home made dust boots.

I don't know about cheap but one of the best places to get a dust shoe is at KentCNC. He has supplied many of the CNC people and I've never heard a bad word about him or his products on the forums. As a matter of fact I was cutting a deep bowl one Sunday and the router bit caught the edge of the boot and pulled the brush out and damaged it. This was entirely my fault as I was new and didn't really know what I was doing. Anyway I wrote Kent an email asking if I could purchase a new brush and told him what happened. About an hour latter I got a call from him (on Sunday) and he sent out a new brush the next day and wouldn't let me pay him at all, not even for the next day shipping cost. I don't know about you but I don't normally get this kind of service from my vendors. I really like his dust shoe and I have used it a lot with no problems.
This is his web site where you can see if he has what you want and of course the cost.

I second what Mark said, I really like the 4" hose connection, I have no dust on my work piece. Check out my video with the dust shoe installed.

thanks for the info. I suppose the porter cable router on the pull down list(7518/19) will fit the 3.25 hp camaster PC router. what can anyone recommend for the connecting hose from the dust shoe to the collector?

Any 4" ID hose will work [wink]

It's nice to buy a hose that has wire running through it so you can ground it. There's a lot of static that builds up and can cause a fire.

Hey Copperhead,
The Kent shoe works great for cutters with up to 2" loc and not too much elevation. (we still haven't come up with effective dust collection for 3-5" loc cutters and parts with steep or 3+" of elevation)
To integrate the Kent shoe, we made a bracket that attaches to the top of the z axis on our Cobra to mount a ball joint, a blast gate and a piece for flex hose that accommodates the 12" of z motion... works very well.
There are some pics here:

Don't know if this would suit your needs, but I found an outstanding hose at walmarts of all places
