Jim,
I have been using Mach3 for about 5 years. So far I haven't come across a problem that I can point to Mach. It has always been either me or the glitches with the drivers. Mach3 has so many setup options that it might take a little tweaking but it works very well. Actually the setup for the basic operation is pretty straight forward. It actually has features that WinCNC doesn't. Russ

Jim,
Now that you've used both WinCNC and Mach3 extensively, any brief thoughts on the strengths and weaknesses of each? For a system dedicated to machine control as its sole purpose (ie. no design, surfing, etc), do you see a substantial advantage to WinCNC over Mach3 once you climb the learning curve? Richard |

i still do not have any substantial mach 3 time, the stinger in my world is load and run,
the wincnc on my x3 is a wonderful controller that i am thrilled with, stable and i can be online with any thing or designing with aspire whilr machine is running on same screen jim |

Thanks Jim.
By the way, have you used one of the Cintiq tablet pads by Wacom for any of your design work? I bought one used a few months ago and it is fantastic for modeling. Richard |
