Looks like I have my answer. That one's ruled out for now.

Hey,
To answer your questions about software running the same time your machine is running. it is possible for it to cause problems. depending on the size of ram that your pc has and the size of the cpu. When using wincnc most likely you won't have this problem, because the pulses used to control the machine comes from their hardware not the pc. most likely the only time you would see an issue with wincnc is when something interrupts the 5volts on the pc. either noise coming through the network line or interuppting the usb ports. plugging or unplugging equipment could also cause glitches. now mach3 is a different story anything running on your computer with mach3 could cause an issue. mach3 uses the cpu to produce pulses for the machine. so anything that draws from the cpu could interrupt the machine. I hope this helps everyone.

This could explain the difference. The person that gave me the input on opening multiple programs uses Mach 3 and I'm using WinCNC.

Thanks for the info.
