  • Calibrating the FTC

    Hello all.

I need to figure out how to set my FTC switch.
Basically, when I jog my tool down to the spoilerboard (with the Vacuum on) and hit calibrate switch, measure all the tools, set my X0Y0 etc etc, then go back to check that the calibration has done what it was supposed to, I find that it is off by approx 0.8mm. I have checked, and the switch etc is working perfectly, and WINCNC is getting the signal at the right time etc etc. I could compensate using the G92Z0 command, but I want it to be right, as I am not always available to set the machine.
What is the correct procedure to set my FTC switch?

    Thanks in advance

    Tristan...
Is the .8mm consistent across all tools, or is it peculiar to a few?

          Tristan,
Just a question , when you did your calibrate switch did you happen to use a short router bit? Could you try doing the calibrate switch with a longer bit then measure all tools.
