X & Y travel not working properly

The X travel is stopping approximately 3" before it reaches the center of the ornamental lathe on my SR48. What can I do to correct this?
Also the y travel doesn't automatically stop when it reaches the rear end of the table. Should there have been a limit switch there?

Ron,
Is this a new pair of problems?
Does WinCNC display any messages?
Is the y problem bumping up the the end of travel? Limit switches are only on one end.
Do you know what the soft limits are set at in WinCNC.ini file?

I bought it used a while ago but this is the first time I've run it.
No messages on WinCnc
More like slamming into the end frame
No I don't, but will check those today.

Check and make sure you aren't running out of X travel. If you are the lathe could be mounted incorrectly. If it is showing a +X axis limit then you'll just have to reset boundaries to get over there.

On the Y the high limit should be set in your .ini file by Camaster when the machine was setup.

Lathe is on factory mounts so I have to think it's where its supposed to be. I'm guessing that travel distance is then set in wincnc

Did you initialize and did it touch off the limit switches normally? First the Z axis, then X, and last the Y axis switches. If anything drifted during being moved this would reset it's references. Not sure I'm stating that correctly.
