    Hello All,
    I've had my Stinger I 23 for two years now. I found plenty of useful tips here as I was getting the machine going. In that spirit, I thought I would share two accessories I made that I've found useful. The two accessories are an auxiliary table and a removable dust shoe in the style of the Kent, but using the as-received CAMaster system for attachment.

    First the auxiliary table... I have need to cut parts while holding a moderately thick workpiece at an angle on the order of 15 degrees (guitar headstock angle). The auxiliary table mounts on the side of the machine where the indexing lather would go, and I use the cantilevered section of the gantry to machine parts on the auxiliary table. I attached the CAD model that shows the design and gave me confidence there was sufficient clearance and travel to pull this off, and I also attached a photo of the completed table.

    I'll put some photos of the dust collection parts in a second post.

    And here's the dust collection shoe, tube, etc. The design is similar to the Kent with the magnetic attachment, but I used the cam-lock mounting feature on the as-received machine for the base of the shoe. With this configuration, I didn't have any interference from the laser and didn't need to modify the machine at all.     I'm pretty sure it was on this forum that I saw the tube configuration for connection between the shoe and the DC hose. I made a plate to hold the tube in place and constrain the tube to motion only in the Z-axis. It's probably more clear in the photos. Take a look!

          Just completed a much needed upgrade to my Stinger 1 setup.
          Every time I use my machine I need to run the dust collector and the Storm vacuum. Since the Storm vac is under my Stinger I needed to squat down and reach under there to turn it on/off, without smashing my head on the gantry since my switch access is on the overhang side. Then I need to pick my way between the Stinger and the wall, and some shop clutter, to turn my dust collector on/off.

          I purchased a pair of PowerTec 71008 switches for about $12 each on Amazon and made an enclosure for them from some scrap acrylic. Got some 14ga SOOW cable from HD and wired up the switches.
          Now I just reach over and easily turn the DC and Storm vac on/off with no hassles.
          So nice!

                Yeah, I built a tenoning jig for my Stinger 1. There's a thread on this where some other folks also did similar stuff.

                  Hi everyone,
                  I'm finishing up my plan for a stand for my soon to be delivered Stinger 1 SR-24.

                  I'm like to know the distance between the Stinger tabletop and where it mounts to the stand so I can determine the distance from the floor to the tabletop.

                  I stinger 2 says the distance from the floor to the tabletop is 33 inches. That sounds about right.
                  The stand I’m making I figured would be 28 inches from the floor to the top where the stinger bolts to.
                  So, I’m thinking that the distance from the top of the stand to the top of the tabletop would be about 5 inches.

                  I would really appreciate it if I could get a measurement from the top of the stand to the top of the stinger tabletop.
                  The down loads from Camaster don’t show this measurement.

                    8 1/2" + the thickness of your spoil board.

                      Does that put the top of the spoil board at 36.5 inches off the floor?

                        Close - just depends on your base and spoilboard.
                        My phenolic top is 1" thick then I have 1/2" thick MDF spoilboard which makes it about 9 1/2" to the top on my machine.
