  • Z Axis Crashing Upward

I have an SR44 with servos. This afternoon when I went to warmup mode the Z axis raised hit the limit switch then continued to raise and crash into the top block. I checked the Input screen and control board in the cabinet and both inputs turn green when I manually make the limit switch. Did all the obvious checks for cable connections and re-started the computer and main cabinet. None of this seemed to help. This happened at a really bad time as I have several jobs scheduled. I requested CAMaster support but thought maybe some of you have had this issue as well.

I don't know how your stinger is set up , but I had this happen on my Cobra .
I had an independent tech in the shop working on another machine and he took a look at it.
He adjusted the clearance between the bolt and the switch and it hasn't happened again.
I had to use a wrench to lower the z axis below the switch so I could initialize.

Shut everything down again and it started working properly. Talked with Kodie from Tech Support and he suggested that maybe the input for the Z limit switch may be starting to fail. I moved the wire to a spare input, and he logged onto my computer and changed the INI file to the new input location. Seems to be working properly and will keep an eye on this. Hats off to Kodie and the tech support guys at CAMaster for the quick response.

Pete, I had an axis that refused to work properly after I moved and the solution was the same...move the input. The tech had me do the physical move and then changed the programming for me the same way. It's worked properly since. I think sometimes something just goes kaput in an input.
