  • Edge Binder

We are just starting on building cabinets and I was wondering if anyone could recommend a starter “edge binder”, reasonably priced?

    Thank you for any help,

    1) get a glue pot not a hot air bander like a cnc buy the second one first. 2 there are plenty of good units at some decent price points. I have owned several and use two now a Brandt kd 53 21 years old and the biggest 609 the chinese sell. I will see what is in market, machines work with thicknesses, 95% of all banding is 1 mill or 1/2 mill, i love i mill cost a little more goes on well looks and performs great 1/2 mill or "tape" as we call it can be a PIA

    2) do not take a job requiring 3 mill until you master it.

Thank you we will have to do some research. They look a little too expensive for us to go into but we will keep looking.

        Thank you again,

I started with a hot air bander. Too much hand work. I now have a Cehisa ep8. They also make smaller models.
Yes they are expensive. So is labor to apply, trim and file edge band. The speed that auto machines band saves so much time/$$$.
Switching between different thickness ,widths and materials (pvc, wood) is simple. I thought I was crazy buying the bander. Now I wonder why not sooner.
It really depends on your space and volume of work.
Here is a link the IWF sent me a couple of days ago. https://iwf22.mapyourshow.com/8_0/?_...cy50dg%3D%3D#/
click full exhibitor list. Then put edgebander in category filter. This will give you some research material.

Thank you, this is going to take a lot of research. I think it may be a lot more of an expense than we had thought.
