                          like the way it measures "spinning" tool, getting a dynamic zero
                          mounting to the gantry carries it with the you, rather than having to goto a table location to zero tools

                            If I had to do this, I'd leave my FTC switch intact. There are other ways to get inputs. But it's a pretty expensive upgrade at around $480 just for the 50mm or 80mm forks.

                              Yep.. Gary is right. There is no reason to replace the pressure version of the FTC switch to gain a couple thousandths of hysteresis. The conductive versions, well, that's another matter.
