  • Vectric Laser Module

    Hello,

I see people asking if the Vectric laser module works with CAMaster machines. I don't know if it's supported, but it works on our machine.

This is the post processor that we use:

    http://www.wincnc.net/webfiles/Post%...NCLaser10.5.pp

Also, Michael updated WinCNC so it would control the laser power properly.

Hi Tim, apologize if the is a silly question. How did you go about upgrading your version of WINCNC so it will work with the WINCNC post?

    Regards,

    Scott

You have to contact WinCNC to get the laser module activated. They can also tell you if your board is compatible with a laser add on.

          Hi Scott,

On our machine the laser feature was already activated and we had been using it before the new laser module in Vectric was available. It was only after we started using the new Vectric laser module that we were having problems with it.

To repair the laser power control problem, Michael from CAMaster logged into our machine and updated WinCNC, and we needed to use the post processor linked above.

So I'm trying to use the above post with the Vectric laser module. I've already had Camaster enable my laser, modified WINCNC.INI, etc. Test firing laser with L251.1 D1 works fine. Using some sample text in Vectric, and using this post, the attached code (I reduced file size by removing lines in the middle of file) is what is produced. The file doesn't even load by WINCNC...I get an error in line 6 when loading the file. Any ideas?

Your .tap file looks correct. Mine looks the same and I know mine works. Make sure your XY and Z zeros are correct. If you aren't getting a boundary error I'd give tech support a call and see what they say.

For all those questions regarding Vectric's Laser Module, here is the post-processor you'll need to make it work - https://www.wincnc.com/webfiles/Post...ssors/Vectric/. Then look for this PP -
WinCNCLaser10.5.pp. Camaster Tech support won't help with this. The reply I got was "We do not support the [Vectric] laser module."
