  • Smoke detector / fire alarm / heat sensor

    Hello,
Does anyone recommend a smoke detector / fire alarm / heat sensor for a 2 car garage that won't be triggered by sawdust in the air?
    many thanks

I have 2 regular smoke detectors in my basement workshop, and I've only ever set them off by burning wood on my tablesaw (once), and when I've done a lot of spraying of poly. Never with dust.

Smoke detectors should be vacuumed regularly in a dusty environment.

I use the Nest smoke and gas detector that connects to my iPhone. I like it as it warns me before it goes off and I can stop it with a voice command. And same for me, it only came on so far when wood was jamming and burning on the table saw. And I do vacuum it occasionally as well.

I installed a heat detector in my basement-garage shop instead of a smoke detector.

I have a heat and smoke detector in my basement and I have never set them off...............yet. ???? I have had some small smoke events but nothing serious.
