I don't have this problem as I only have a 1 hp spindle and it's not very heavy. I have read posts here on this forum where they lower the spindle down on a foam block before power down.

If your Z0 is consistantly off by the same amount you can change the thickness setting of the touch pad in the "macro_touchtop.mac" file in the wincnc macros folder.
