You can thin with water, Floetrol, or Wagner Paint Easy if it's a acrylic. I don't use "airbrush medium" if it's going outdoors. The "Paint Easy" is my preference.

Steve, unless you make everything the same size, you'll need more than one brush. So, the short answer is "no". But I do mostly small stuff, so the .5" & .75" get the most love.

The woodgrain you see is acrylic paint, which will long outlast any "natural" finish without maintenance coats.
