This is a pretty old thread! Here is a picture of the newer kitchen stool design. Much easier to make than the old design because the toolpaths are more efficient, and there is a simple jig now for the joint between the stretcher and the legs.

Iím probably repeating myself here but it is important.

Russellís plans are the best. Every detail has been described. It is a great learning tool even toolpath design to minimize tear out is provided. Finally, the stools are strong.

I also highly recommend Russell's plans. The stool I made with his plans came out great. Thanks again, Russell! I am actually in the middle of the rocking chair build now.
