Default DIY machinable Wax?

Does any of you guys makes their own machinable wax?

This thing seems to cost a small fortune. Do you recommend places to by it from?

I've read about it some and being a chemical engineer it seems doable.
Do any of you have any experience making their own?

It's a material I know I can definitely use. I've experimented with a recipe, but haven't machined it yet
Any thoughts?

There was a thread about it at CNC zone many years ago if I recall.

Basically regular wax mixed with HDPE (from milk jugs for example) to make it harder.
