Default Corian epoxy inlay sign

So, I'm am in love with Corian. I went back to using West System epoxy, had issues with the other ones changing the color when adding the hardener. With colors I really need to be true I use the "207 special clear" hardener from West.

Really nice !!

What pigment did you use for red? I need a better red option. The one I have is more of a dark burgundy.

I used Mixol, it went way to burgundy on me because I actually used the other epoxy with the hardener that messed with the tone. If I had used the West Epoxy it would have been a brilliant red. The blue is West Epoxy. The Mixol stuff is great, I put in 2-3 drops per pump of the west to make it more opaque otherwise it's a bit too translucent.

Has anybody used System 3 epoxy resin to inlay into Corian? I'm about to buy some colors to do that with, and it's expensive stuff...

Thanks for the info, Jim. Do have a particular brand of resin? Do you buy it colored or mix some sort of dye or powder in it?

tenax , touchstone, Granite supply companies like Gran Quartz sell it $$$$ or Amazon (much less)

Some colors use a few drops (Darker), some like yellow and white need more

The fiberglass comes from lowes, autozone etc, if you want a White White you have to add more colorant

Thanks again, Jim. I ordered that kit, as well as a gallon of Bondo fiberglass resin. That should last me awhile. The Amazon price for the resin was equitable to local suppliers.

Remember those who read this, there is a difference in Flowing and Knife grade epoxy, you do not want knife grade.

Unless you want Knife grade !
