Default And so, the adventure begins

My new Stinger 1 is now setting in my garage. It's still in the crate so I have some work cut out for me for the next couple of days but the wait is over. Now the fun begins.

Don't let the crate sit unopened too long...claims to freight companies for "hidden damage" become exponentially more difficult as time passes.

In 2018, I rejected a damaged shipment before they ever unloaded the truck, and later (same freight company), I had THEM inspect it while it was still on their dock and they sent it back instead of bringing it to me. The third time the same item was delivered, they managed to get it to me and off the truck without apparently damaging it. Needless to say, I unwrapped it IMMEDIATELY. I would likely have been out of luck if I'd waited a week. "YF" used to stand for "Yellow Freight"...I'm thinking those initials now represent something I cannot repeat here.

Well, it's out of the crate but still setting on the pallet with no apparent damage. I had a little trouble with the stand though. It wasn't shipped with any bolts. To compound the problem the instructions were old and stated that I had to drill the bolt holes. They were already there and tapped. Tech support provided me with the correct sizes and lengths so a quick trip to the hardware store and all is well. Now I just have to figure out how to lift the machine off of the pallet and onto the stand.

A couple of friends and a six-pack should solve your lifting challenge. :)

The "stand" / legs Camaster ships w/ the Stinger are extremely poor quality. They were not square, no holes were drilled (this was 2 years ago) & one of the tapped holes for the rubber-post leveling feet was tapped wrong which caused me to break off a post inside the hole (of course, this was after I'd already spent most of a day getting the out-of-square legs on the frame so removing the leg to drill out the broken post wasn't an option). 2 years later it still has boards supporting 1 end and I grimace every time I walk past it...

I'm an extremely happy Camaster customer but the vendor used for building these legs should be kicked to the curb.

I'm only posting this comment hoping that future customers will heed advice by others and build their own stand. (Search this forum and you'll find a few posts w/ pictures/suggestions.) I only bought the factory-option because I didn't want to waste a whole day building something. Then I spent an entire day fighting the defective metal legs instead.
