Default 5mm boring speed and feed

Anybody have recommendations as far as boring 5mm holes in 3/4" ply.
spindle rpm and plunge rate. Is peck drilling necessary?

I do not have a drilling block. Single 5HP HSD spindle

Thanks for any info

Kyle

First, I use a 5mm brad point bit for drilling so you don't get any heat or chipping. I run one pass, no pecking at 150 IPM plunge rate. I think I am running 12,000 of the spindle but I can verify that tonight.

Sure wish I had a 5 head boring block.

If you did, you'd wish you had a 12 spindle block.

I have a 12, and wish I had an 18 or 24.
