Default More Dumb Question(s)

OKAY!!! Keith you were correct. I tried zeroing off the spoilboard with the touch pad. That didn't work. Finally just touched the tool off the surface of the work piece and zeroed it and it worked great. Except....how/where do I set the feed rate? I milled a pocket and it took over an hour to machine out a roughly 10" by 5" .150 deep pocket. Thanks for all the suggestions. I think I am finally getting somewhere.

Feedrate will be set in the toolpaths tab of vcarve. Select your tool the under the settings for that tool you can alter the feedrate, depth, spindle speed, etc. Those same changes can be made to you tap file manually but it's easier in vcarve.

You can also use the mouse and slider bar in wincnc to adjust the rates during the operation. Most people adjust rates there and note them to update in vcarve in case the file gets used again.
