Default Set of collets

When I purchased my stinger III I got the 1/4, 3/8 and 1/2 collets. I am looking for a good source for smaller ones. 1/16, 1/8 for example. Not sure what I need them for yet but I purchased several different bits from a distributor as a sample pack and some are pretty small. Thanks for your time.

ToolsToday is where I have purchased most of my collets, both to double up on common sizes and to get some less used sizes like .1875. All of my tooling that's sub-.125" uses a .125" collet. I bought extra collet nuts from MariTool.

Thanks Jim, are all collets equal? Anything I should avoid?

Matter of opinion if this can be considered a "good source", probably not but may be so. I usually don't advise cheap chinese tooling but I bought a set like this and they seem fine, didn't want to spend much for something I may not use often but want to have on hand when the need arises..

The suppliers mentioned above are good ones. If you get your collets from a place that sells quality bits you will get a good one. Just be sure to get the right ER size for your machine, ie, my SR24 spindle uses the ER-25 size.

Happy hunting!

I have been getting my Collets from Elaire corp. they are manufacturers and can make to size. They carry a good stock of standard stuff on hand and quick turn a round.

Like all things in life, you may not get what you pay for but you will certainly pay for what you get. We use US Router for nearly all our tooling. Joey was a CAMaster owner at one point, knows his customers businesses well, and offers discounts to CAMaster owners. I am not saying there are not other options for us out there but I believe in partnerships that work both ways as I do not have time to tool shop every day. Prices are competitive, if not cheaper on some items, if he feels another manufacturer builds a better particular component than what he has access to he informs me, and all of this is about what enables success in my opinion. True partnerships!
