Hello-
I am about to start cutting .02" and .03" Lexan for face shields. Does anyone have any experience with this? I have not cut this thin of material before and would welcome any tips (bits /feeds/ speeds/ etc..) before I start. Thanks Brian

Onsrud O flutes are very good for that application:

Hi Brian, how did you make out with bits and cutting? What did you end up with feeds and speeds, and hold downs?

Tim and Joey-
Thanks for replying. I have been cutting the shields successfuly using an Amana 45190 (1/16" 2 flute Carbide bit). I ended up cutting two sheets at once at 50 imp and 12k rpm. It takes about 35 minutes to cut two 4'x8' sheets that yield 34 shields per sheet. I am just screwing the sheets down in six spots around the edges which works okay. I have cut around 500 so far. Here is a video I put together on my process. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ScYnY-xdcmY&t=3s Thanks Brian

WOW Brian - great work. Thanks for the video!
You have obviously put a lot of time working out your procedure, and put together a very nice product! who would have guessed that a cnc was going to be instrumental in facemasks?? clever Brian!
