Good afternoon,
I used Mick Martin's Spoilboard Wizard to create the .tap file to resurface my spoilboard. I followed the instructions and it works as expected. The problem I encountered is the dust from cutting the MDF. Long story short, I canceled the job before it got too bad so cleanup will be minor. I recall reading a post(s) about pausing the job and raising the spindle to allow the dust shoe to be attached. Does anyone recall the solution to this? I thought there was a way to manually insert some g-code at the beginning of the script. I searched the forums and can't find anything. The Spoilboard Wizard is awesome. I can see a few uses for it beyond just spoilboards. Thanks Mick! BTW, I also found your tutorial series on YouTube very informative.

I finished surfacing my spoilboard with the dust shoe attached by "peeking under the hula skirt" of the shoe. Next time, I might try using a small flashlight to make the process a little easier on my eyes.
I'm still wondering if anyone can point me to the thread I was referring to in my original post. At the time, I remember thinking it seemed helpful, but I guess I didn't save it to my favorites.

This is my method...I put the shoe on first and then lower the tooling to the surface before starting the file. I just did that a "million" times last week as I was milling off the remains of my old spoilboard so I could install a new one after making sure my whole table was back to flat.

Would this work?
Put the SB surfacing bit in, lower it to the table and set Z0. Raise the bit, place the dust shoe and type Z0 to lower it back to the surface Run Micks wizard and just hit enter when it asks if the bit is on the surface of the sb.

Yes, that would work. I'm lucky that my shoe has a pneumatic flap that pops up on it so I don't have that issue.
