Default J Tech 7W Laser

I just recently had the time to actually set up and attempt to use the laser attachment on my Panther.
I downloaded the pp, made the tool, followed all the instructions.

When I run a file the laser fires but the z doesn't lower to the material.
The primary comes down but the laser stays at the top.

Yes i placed it on the work surface and zeroed it.
Even tried putting it in focus range and zeroing it.
No luck.

Anyone run into this and if so how did you solve it?

Thanks in advance.

I think this is what I have had to do.. hadn't run the laser in a month or so but this is what I think I have to do in order to make it lower to the z it needs...
Remove the laser and try putting in a bit and using the touch top device on top of the spoilboard to get the machine to zero to the touch top as opposed to the spoilboard... then zero the laser to the piece you're going to laser.. if I recall that's what I have to do as it seems the machine doesn't clear it's memory if zero'd originally from the spoilboard.

Any updates on this problem. I'm having a similar problem with my 7W laser.

Default Same Problem, any Solutions?

I just got my table and am trying to use the laser, but, as described above, whenever I run the program the laser retreats up the z-axis and attempts to burn from about 15" above the material.

Since I am just starting this process my Post Processor was downloaded and installed today from

Any advice would be appreciated!

To anyone still having this problem; as of this posting the post processor on the jtonics website (CAMaster Laser INCH) is out of date. CAMaster support provided me with a new one (CAMaster Laser INCH No Z) that fixed this issue.
