Default sanity check - please

successfully cut out my first project. tried a 2nd, and it immediately starts cutting into the spoilboard. so i made a test circle, same thing.

would anyone be so kind to look at this file and tell me my error??? thank you in advance.
ps i have the Z0 (blue box) dead on at top of spoilboard.

i guess that i need to get a better handle on setting the soft limits, as i was hoping they would/could stop any spoilboard cutting...

Z0 is set to material top in the tap file while you state that Z0 is set to the table top. They need to be the same. Most people in this group set the Z0 to the table top in Aspire.

Tim...
Your Switch should be calibrated to the spoilboard. When a tool is measured it will then be measured to the spoilboard and when the bit is lowered to the spoilboard the Axis Position should read 0.00 with a blue box. In your Vectric software, simply check the "bottom of material" or Table Surface" checkbox for the Z datum.

This would be the preferred method with an ATC. Design and cut all files with the Z ref at the spoilboard. You should make sure there are no green boxes active.

By the way, I say "should" a few times above. I was being nice, they are not suggestions! :)

thank you Mike and Gary... I get that, been trying to follow aspire tutorial which go with top of material. hard to deviate when you are new, ugh.

for top of the spoilboard:
project setup on the left would be (e.g.) .75 " thick, and set at table zero. (blue box and Z0 at table). then on the right, material thickness set to .75". in the profile toolpath data, what should the start depth and cut depth be to cut through?

sorry for beginner questions...
